Video Editor/Motion Designer

We are looking for a talented and motivated Video Editor/Motion Designer to join our team at Recreation. Someone who understands storytelling and can edit professional, finished video across a variety of styles, whether it's a brand launch manifesto video, a product how-to walk-through, or a corporate documentary.

While the role will primarily involve working in post-production through editing and motion graphics -  occasional support in pre-production and on-location is always welcomed.

• Contribute to all stages of animation / video creative development, from ideation and storyboarding to production and final delivery
• Work closely with designers and marketing managers in implementing engaging and dynamic motion solutions
• Editing powerful videos that tell compelling visual stories for our clients
• Utilizing sound mixing and color grading techniques to enhance video assets
• Attend and assist on location shoots as needed
• 5 days a week working on site in San Francisco

• A dynamic portfolio and/or motion reel showcasing experience, and a high-level of craft
• 2-4 years experience as an editor working with both original and found footage
• 3+ years of motion design experience
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Highly organized and quick learner
• Ability to effectively communicate concepts and creative rationale
• Strong critical thinking and storytelling skills
• Ability to drive an edit session, along with working independently
• Knowledge of acquisition and delivery formats (especially REDCODE Raw)
• Willingness to travel nationally/internationally, sometimes on short notice, with a valid passport
